Hello Streeters...

Well, I know these freezing temps are forcing many of you to think of the good times and warm days that lay ahead just around the corner.

With those pleasant thoughts in mind, lets get to some N.I.S. Club News...

First off as last announced, the Northern Illinois Streeters Annual Club Meeting, Mingler and Get-Together is on Saturday, May 5th at 4pm in Richmond, IL.

Next is a bit of sad news.  Sadly we are somewhat losing a good club member and family.  Rick Lane with the bright yellow and black striped '70 Olds Ralleye 350 accepted a promotion with his job, unfortunately with that promotion, he now has to move to Ohio.  That also means the same for wife Danette and son Kevin too.  They will be missed around here, but they will ALWAYS be Northern Illinois Streeters.  Rick's Father, Dick Lane joined the Streeters last year after purchasing his sweeet '67 Cougar.  So exit Rick, enter Dick one might say.  Another good thing is that Rick and family will still be here until June 15th, and he hopes to make as MANY shows as he can with us. Rick's Father will be hitting the shows with us too.  Rick did mention that he will have a guest room open, and invites any fellow streeters to come out to one of the many shows or events near his new home.  We may just take him up on that.

Moving on to upcoming events, the 99th Annual Chicago Auto Show will be here on Friday, February 9th (This Friday) and runs thru Feb. 18th... There was discussion about a club group heading up there on one of the two weekends.  I myself will be taking off a day during the week to go.  If anyone is interested please contact me and we'll see if it's possible to get a group together to go.

Some other News is for Club Member Jeff Schwartz is making headlines in several magazines including this month's Hot Rod and Car Craft for his Ultima GTR.  Jeff not only broke speed records, but also received 1st Place in the 2006 0-200mph-0 Speed Stop Challenge in the desert. Jeffs car was also a feature car at last year's SEMA Show at the Hahn Racecraft booth.  Both Jeff and Streeters member, Ken Kellner attended the show together. Jeff's Ultima now touts a 1000+hp twin turbo 6.6 Liter LS2 engine. For those with Dish Network TV that receive the Mens Channel you can watch the entire project on V8TV.

Now if anyone has any Club News that they'd like to share whether it be about their own rides, events, or Industry News, please submit it to me.  And don't forget to check out our Club page at www.carsandracingstuff.com

Stay warm everyone, April and Spring Jefferson (The Season Kickoff show) is coming soon!
