Hello Streeters!

Well the 2007 Car Show/Cruise Night Season is just about here.

The Official Season Kickoff is Spring Jefferson.  This is one of the largest shows of the season, and as most of you know, there is a second show at the end of the season... Fall Jefferson.  But that comes later, much later.

Spring Jefferson is a TWO day show, with the Car show ONLY on Sunday.  The dates are Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th.  The club will be headed up there together with the showcars on Sunday the 29th... Weather perimitting of course.

This is one of the Largest Swap Meets and Car Corrals of the season, and both Swap and Car Corral is Saturday and Sunday.

We are currently looking to set up the trip up there and gather club members.

Meeting place is the newly remodeled and enlarged McDonalds in Richmond on Route 12.

Meeting Time is 6:45am (Yeah it's early, but this show gets packed and ONLY holds so many show cars... We have been shut out of this show once before, where they actually closed the gates).

We'll have breakfast there and head off to the show from there.

So those interested in attending so far include:

Ken Kellner
Joe Salzburg
Jim Salzburg
Craig Sincora
Brian Sincora
Larry Eslick
Rick Lane
Mike & April Webb

We do want to add to more people, and as always want a LARGE group of Northern Illinois Streeters headed to this event.  If you would like to go, PLEASE contact Joe (Me) and we will add you to the list.  It's been a long, long "Off Season", and we really want to see everyone again.

Now I am also asking for Club members to R.S.V.P. for the Annual Club Get-together/Meeting/Mingler on Saturday, May 5th.

The Club meeting is at my home in Richmond (9415 Glacier Ridge)

Time: 4:00pm

Who's invited:  All Club members and their spouses (Sorry no children under driving age).  There'll be a LOT of people, and we need the space for all the adults.

What to bring:  Your Showcars, your Rides. (I have a HUGE driveway to fill up with showcars.  Bring 'em pop the hoods, show 'em off to NEW club members.)

Food:  This will once a again be "Pot Luck"... Meaning bring a dish to pass, whether it be an appetizer, entree, snack or dessert.  I will supply the beverages of all sorts.

We will introduce NEW Club members, and discuss several club topics including:  Two-Radios, Upcoming Club Events, Club get-togethers, Club Ralleye, Club T-Shirts, Club Hats, Club Jackets, Car Decals, Parades, Roadtrips, and several Club things.  Lots to talk about, Lots of fun, and Lots of introductions...

We had a LOT of NEW Club members join the Streeters last year (27 total) and we hope to see all of them back.  The Streeters were easily the largest growing club last year and it was no secret why.  People saw the fun we were having and simply wanted to see what it was all about. No other club brought in 17 to 25 cars into a show at one time like we did last year as it became our club's signature. And we didn't just do this at one show, but rather seven times last year. We parked together, propped up our canopies and made the shows that much better with fun and friendship. A lot of people were introduced last year, and it was great to see many of the old faces, but also many new faces joining us show after show. We also took two club participation awards last year at both shows that offered that award.

We have NO plans on pulling back or sitting still back this year either.  We're hoping and with great planning look to grow even greater, not just in membership size, but also in participation, events, comaradity, and yes, even more fun!  We have so many great club members that make up this fine club and I know it's only going to get better.

So hopefully everyone can make it.  We're hoping for a good turnout to Spring Jefferson, and the Weather as many seasoned "Jeffersoners" know, can be iffy... So we will be watching the weather... As long as there is no precipitation, we'll be there.  Many of you have those very cool club jackets to don now.  So showing your colors, suddenly became very cool.

We really want to see EVERYONE at the Club meeting for sure.  So again, please R.S.V.P. so I know how many to plan for, beverages to buy, etc.

So please confirm as soon as you can.

Thanks everyone and see you all very soon!
