Hello Streeters Old and New...

WOW! Words do NOT describe our presence at the Gary Lang Car Show this past Sunday.

Let me start off by saying that I was ORIGINALLY, Originally hoping for about 20 to 25 cars show up. With BIG hopes on reaching, possibly breaking our current record of 28 showcars at one show.

Let me say I love it when this club exceeds my expectations... And not by a car or two, but by 12 cars?

We had a club turnout of 56 Club members, family and friends and an all-time record shattering high of 42 cars! 42 "Bleepin" cars! In the infamous words of the Great Chris Farley, "Holy Shnikey!" Did I say 42 Cars? YES, I said 42 Cars!

We started out at the McDonalds in McHenry with about 27 cars... and with the short drive down Rte 31 into the show where more cars joined the caravan as we were rolling in. It was a "Train" of horsepower, that seemed to have no end!

I was busy (Good Busy) all day parking club cars, signing up NEW members, speaking with current members and revelling in sheer fun of it all! It was great. Bob Lehor, Streeter and member of the Gary Lang Group promised us and delivered upon reserving the large grassy square area for our club. Believe me, we needed it as we drove in car after car to showgoer's enjoyment, parking them around the parimeter of the square. And we filled it fast. We had to move cars into the square throughout the morning and early afternoon to fit MORE club cars!

We set up six canopies inside the square to create a GINORMOUS Streeters Lounge. Everyone took advantage of the shade right away, by planting their chairs and relaxing with friends.

The weather could not be more cooperative, perfect temps, sun, a slight breeze and NO RAIN!

Now we picked up Eleven NEW club members and two more that I awaiting info sheets for. With that said, I would like to welcome the NEWEST members to the Northern Illinois Streeters:

A special was given to us by Bob Lehor and Rich Stratton and Gary Lang of $100.00 to the club for it's participation to use it for whatever we want to for the club.

I wish to personally thank Gary Lang Auto Group and both Bob and Rich for their generosity and for the organization of a phenomenol show!

The show was packed with cars, people and fun!

I want to especially thank ALL of the Streeters who attended this show and participated with the club. I also wish to thank those who brought canopies, chairs, family, friends. I want thank everyone who helped set up and take down everything... I want to thank the members for helping with recruitment of new members, and helping park all the vehicles. This was a fantastic club effort in every form.

There was another club there, the Corvette club... They brought a lot of cars too, but they were no match for the enthusiasm and participation level we had Sunday. Thank you all for joining us and now that we are OFFICIALLY past the halfway point of the season, I invite ALL of you to keep it going! We have a LOT of great events yet, including the Indian Uprising, Elkhorn, The Richmond Show, The Antique Car Show in St. Charles, Beloit Autorama, Fall Jefferson, the Lensing Show, and the Morris Fall Classic. A lot of GREAT Events let yet, including the Founders Day Parade and a Drive-In Movie or two... So stay tuned Streeters...

This Season is getting better and better!
