Hello Streeters...
Well, with this Coming Sunday's Show, we will be starting the month of June with a HUGE BANG! And we're counting on good weather to help us carry it out.
Yes, it's the Annual Multi-Dealer run Car show, better known as the Dodge of Antioch Show.
For those who don't know the history, here it is in brief. Several years ago Dodge of Antioch started this show as Annual Cruise night on a Friday. The Annual Cruise became wildly popular to where they made it a Car Show on a Sunday. That show in itself quickly became an established show and as of 3 years ago, Not only the Ford dealer across the street, but also the Chevrolet dealer jumped in. And although not connected by lots like the other three dealerships, Country Buick-Pontiac of Antioch also jumped in the fun as a sponsor of the show. And with the Kia Dealership next to Antioch Dodge involved, this is one ENORMOUS SHOW!
The Streeters have been attending this show as a club since it has become a show, with us bringing more and more cars and members every year.
This year I am hoping ot trounce our previous numbers and go for a goal of a NEW HIGH CAR TURNOUT! I'm hoping to have 40 Streeters Cars or better yet more. Whether we do it or not, I am sure our turnout will be impressive regardless and everyone there will have a GREAT TIME!
Now of course we need club participation to have this kind of turnout, and the way it is looking now, a LOT of club members are interested in attending.
The Antioch Show is FREE! ENTIRELY FREE! FREE ADMISSION TO ALL SHOW CARS, FREE FOOD, FREE BEVERAGES AND FREE DOOR PRIZES! JUST LIKE A DEALER SPONSORED SHOW OF THIS TYPE SHOULD BE. There will be a DJ and a handful of awards to hand out at the end of the show. Chuck Lehmann of Antioch Dodge runs this show year after year and does a tremendous job, absolutely!
Chuck has also reserved TWO areas for the Streeters. Both at the Antioch Dodge Dealership, which is the better place to be actually for the show. The ONLY thing is that we have to be there early or at the start of the show, as it will start to fill up and it will be difficult for us to bring as many cars was we want to bring in to the spot we have reserved.
Streeters Member, Jim Brooks is working with Chuck to arrange the reserved parking. If we get the best spot, it will be off to rear and side near the grass so as we could set up our canopies and chairs for the morning/afternoon.
So we will be meeting at 7:15 am at the Burger King on Route 173 in Antioch (Yes the very same one that the club met for the Grass Lake Car Show two weeks ago).
Please RSVP your confirmation to join us for the fun on Sunday if you can... We have a nice sized group already, so come for the fun!
So here are the grouping details at a glance:
Time: 7:15am
Place: Burger King on Route 173 in Antioch
What: Grouping of the Club members and Cars.
Those wanting a quick breakfast can get something there before we head up the road in a caravan to Antioch Dodge to park in the reserved area we have.
